Award Scheme Expeditions
For members of the Scout Association we offer Duke of Edinburgh award scheme expedition packages
Training expeditions allow for accommodation on the first night within the Centre. We allow for all food which includes supper on arrival at the centre, breakfast on the first morning of the expedition, all backpacking food and a meal on the last day of the expedition prior to departure. Training expeditions also include one OS map for each team all campsite fees and accommodation and food for adults who supervise the team.
Qualifying Expeditions allow for accommodation on the first night within the Centre. We allow for supper on arrival at the centre and breakfast on the first morning of the expedition plus accommodation and food for adults who supervise the team.
No transport is allowed with any expedition.
Teams will need to attend with at least one adult who will act as the teams Supervisor for the duration of the expedition.
For a Qualifying Expedition assessments will be carried out by a D of E Accredited Expedition Assessor.
Groups will be responsible for complying with the twenty conditions for the Expedition Section as issued by the D of E this includes completing and submitting the D of E Green Expedition Form which should be sent to The Snowdonia Expedition Assessment Service, Plas Y Brenin, Capel Curig LL24 OET. For all Qualifying Expeditions evidence must be shown that the relevant training and training expedition has been completed.
